The
Manya Krobo District Assembly is to offer relief packages to victims of the
disaster that occurred at the Presbyterian Junior High School at Odumase-Krobo
in the Eastern Region.
The
support is expected to help alleviate the suffering of the surviving victims of
the disaster and families of the deceased.
The
Manya Krobo District Chief Executive, Hon, Isaac Agbo Tetteh, made this known
when he met the executives of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) chapter
of the Journalist for Human Rights (JHR) to discuss the plight of the victims.
Accordingly,
he has asked the subcommittee on Social Welfare of the assembly to assess the
situation and make the appropriate recommendations for the package and advised
that the committee followed due process.
“The
District assembly concept must be followed in order to formalize the process”,
he stated adding, “This would, however take some time pending the election of Presiding
Member (PM) for the assembly and the formation of the various committees”
